This is yet another project where I just happened upon the mockup and don't have any further information. It is a great example for various facade detailing options (concrete panels, aluminum window systems, aluminum panels). What was most astonishing, though, was the fact that it was just standing in the open - not behind a fence - which gave it a more sculptural quality than is typical for these. Austria House (Lost Lake PassivHaus) in Whistler (Mockup)

Designed by Treberspurg & Partner Architekten and constructed for the 2010 Winter Olympics, the Austria House (now known as the Lost Lake PassivHaus) in Whistler, British Columbia, is a landmark of climate-responsive engineering. Built to serve as the headquarters for the Austrian Olympic Committee and Austrian Public Broadcasting, the 2,700-square-foot structure was highly significant as the first registered and certified Passive House (Passivhaus) in Canada. The building was heavily prefabricated in Austria and shipped to Whistler in containers. Its structural core marked a Canadian architectural first: the deployment of prefabricated Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) mass wood panels. This is a great example of a multi-use mockup where its building enclosure is explained perfectly with these standing tables. Integrated Sciences Building at UMass Amherst (Mockup)

Designed by the architecture firm Payette and completed in 2009, the Integrated Sciences Building (ISB) at UMass Amherst is a 188,000-square-foot facility that serves as a major gateway for the university's life, chemical, and physical sciences. Architecturally, the building marks a deliberate shift away from the anonymous, insular laboratory designs of the mid-20th century, replacing them with a highly transparent, sustainable, and collaborative environment. This mockup highlights the masonry facade, which uses different color brick courses to give each story a horizontal accent. Residence Halls (James and Stearns) at Amherst College (Mockup)

Designed by William Rawn & Associates and constructed by Barr & Barr Builders between 2004 and 2005, the rebuilding of James and Stearns Halls replaced deteriorating 1946 concrete structures with modern, contextual residence halls. Positioned on the eastern edge of Amherst College's historic First-Year Quad, the design goal was to harmonize a modern residential interior with the traditional New England collegiate brick vernacular of the surrounding campus. Most mockups don't include the main structural system (steel in this case) in their cutaway form. It is therefore quite amazing that this mockup features a cutaway corner, complete the full exterior facade and with bolted connections and rafter parts on the inside. Masonry Wall Samples (Mockup)

These may be the most frequently used construction mockups. Any project that uses masonry - either with brick or natural stone - needs to fine-tune the stone and wall appearance, its coursing and any decorative patterns, and the chosen mortar color. This is usually done by creating several variants of a common wall detail and then allowing all project participants to evaluate those in-situ before signing off on the chosen combination.
